Fausto Mújica (LFA) was born in Mexico City in 1987 and is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and a trained jazz musician for saxophone, flute and trumpet. His practice includes music composition, production, DJing and videography.
As a music producer and composer he has been associated with the independent labels of Mexotic City (MEX), Quilomboarte (MEX-US) and Ribbontail Berlin (DE). His catalog includes more than 100 music productions of a variety of genres and artists as well as compositions for film, video and advertising. As director and video producer he has been associated with the productions of Periscopio in the University Museum of Contemporary Art and Tránsito Capital. In Germany, his work as a videographer can be found under the productions of Underpaid Mantis.
Regardless of the medium, LFA practice engages in a creative dialog between technology, artistic priorities and socio - historical awareness.
Since 2017, he is based in Berlin where he received his MA in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts. His work has been shown at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, SoundsAbout Gallery and KW.
In 2019, he founded together with Kassiani Goulakou Underpaid Mantis an audiovisual studio focusing on documenting and producing artistic works.
Since 2020, he runs the independent label Ribbontail Berlin that currently represents up-andcoming artists from Mexico, Cyprus, and Greece with works across different genres and styles.
